This page provides information on Windows version of RATS.
Description
RATS for Windows (WinRATS) provides all of the standard features of RATS, and adds several Windows-specific features, including: a Windows version of the RATS Editor with toolbar icons for common operations, a Windows-based on-line help, the ability to view graphs and text simultaneously, copy text and graphs to the Clipboard for pasting into other applications, and more.
There are two flavors of RATS for Windows: WinRATS and WinRATS-32.
WinRATS is a standard 16-bit Windows application designed primarily for use with Windows 3.1. WinRATS-32 is a full 32-bit application designed for use with 32-bit operating systems, from Windows 3.1 running the Win32s extensions through Windows 95, 98, and NT. WinRATS-32 runs about 50% faster than the 16-bit version for most applications.
System Requirements for WinRATS-32:
- an 80386 or better processor
- at least 4Mb of RAM with Windows 3.1. More recent operating systems require more memory, and we recommend at least 16 to 32Mb RAM as a minimum if using Windows 95 or later. Additional RAM provides additional data-handling capacity
- a hard disk drive with at least 7Mb of free disk space
- one CD drive or one 3.5" diskette drive
- Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT. Will also run under OS/2 2.1 or later
System Requirements for WinRATS:
- an 80286 or better processor
- at least 4Mb of RAM (additional RAM provides additional data capacity)
- a hard disk drive with at least 5Mb of free disk space
- one 3.5" diskette drive
- Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000 or NT. Will also run under OS/2 2.1 or later
Three WinRATS packages are available:
- WinRATS (16-bit RATS for Windows)
- WinRATS Plus (16-bit WinRATS plus a copy of RATS386, our fast 32-bit DOS version)
- WinRATS-32 (32-bit WinRATS, also includes RATS386 and 16-bit WinRATS)
All three packages include full documentation, RATSDATA for Windows (a data-management utility), and a suite of examples and procedures.
